Skulptur 1870-1905

Skulpturen i sidste halvdel af 1800-tallet er frodigere end i den første. Billedhuggerne, der stort set alle var franske, arbejdede sig frem til et mere frit og ekspressionistisk udtryk.

Auguste Rodin var periodens dominerende skikkelse og regnes for den moderne skulpturs fader.

The sculpture in the last half of the 1800s is more vigorous than in the first. The sculptors, mainly French artists, developed an independent and sensitive expression.

Auguste Rodin was the most dominating figure of the period and is considered as the father of the modern sculpture.
